Michael has been an provider of dispute resolution services for over twenty years, including arbitration, mediation, neutral evaluation, and judicial reference.

He has mediated and arbitrated hundreds of cases involving a wide variety of business and commercial disputes, construction defect cases, construction contract disputes, personal injury, property damage, trusts and estates, residential and commercial real estate (including sales, leasing, financing, development, foreclosures, fraud claims, condemnation, land use, easements, condominiums and cotenancies) partnership disputes, employment discrimination and termination, sexual harassment, and legal malpractice.

He has acted as a court-appointed referee in commercial and real estate disputes, including complex partition actions.  (Please see the article under "Partition of Real Estate" for further information on his special expertise in this area.)

He also serves as a special master and discovery referee.  Michael believes that most discovery disputes can be resolved by negotiation between counsel, with the assistance of a neutral party if necessary.  To the extent that negotiations fails, he acts as the decision maker.

Michael is also available to counsel parties regarding the settlement of claims and lawsuits.
